PORT LA NOUVELLE – December 2021 Christening of the EolBio experimental buoy

On December 10th, Qair Marine, as part of the EolBio project on the evaluation of the production of fixed natural biomass and fish biomass associated with the floats of future floating wind turbines, inaugurated the EolBio experimental buoy. The various partners of this project were present, including MAREPOLIS. MAREPOLIS was able to present the equipment installed on the EolBio buoy and directly related to the EolBio project: steel substrate plates (biofouling study), probe measuring chlorophyll (quantification of primary production) and underwater cameras specially developed for the project to produce high quality videos (4K) and with a large storage capacity (several terabytes). This equipment is part of a partnership with the CRIOBE research laboratory. The EolBio buoy is also intended to be a mini-observatory of the area conceded to EolMed. MAREPOLIS also presented the hydrophone equipping the EolBio buoy and part of a partnership with the LIS-CRIOBE-Qair Marine-MAREPOLIS. This hydrophone using the latest hardware innovations will be used to listen to marine mammals in the area.
