Pacific Islands Ocean Conference – Solomon Islands – October 2025

Participation in the Expertise of Pacific Coral Ecosystems

This regional conference brought together and built on the strengths and outcomes of its first edition on ocean science and management held in September 2023. It highlights a regional dialogue on Pacific Ocean Policy and Governance and reflects a shared commitment to maximizing the engagement of member countries and partners and strengthening the science-policy interface towards sustainable ocean management. This event is part of the implementation of the “United Nations Decade of Ocean Science”, a 10-year (2021-2030) framework initiative aimed at identifying, generating and using essential ocean knowledge for sustainable development.

Marepolis intervened, as a stakeholder in the study of the Pacific Ocean, in the cycle of conferences entitled “Climate and Innovation” in order to present some levers of action for the ecological and energy transition of island environments, taking the example of French Polynesia and its inspiring advances for a “bluer” Pacific. It also provided support to discussions in closed sessions bringing together experts from the scientific and policy worlds towards the implementation of key global and regional ocean strategies and initiatives for the Pacific.
