In July 2017, the French Agency for Biodiversity and the Gulf of Lion Marine Natural Park launched a call for projects to financially support actions implemented between 2017 and 2018 concerning 3 themes, including the “development of educational and awareness-raising approaches to the knowledge and protection of species, marine habitats and ecosystems”. The project proposed by MarePolis is one of the 4 winners of this theme. This project is aimed at young people (from 8 to 10 years old) in schools and leisure centres. Its purpose is to initiate children to think about the functioning of marine ecosystems by making them aware, via an educational workshop, of the habitats, fauna and flora within the Marine Park, as well as human activities and their impacts. A multimedia game has also been developed for children to test their knowledge and continue learning as a family.
